The southbound lanes of I-75 were shut down for about three hours Friday morning while authorities investigated a deadly multivehicle wreck.

Traffic is flowing again on I-75 and I-675 after a deadly crash stopped drivers on both interstates Friday morning.

Authorities completed their investigation about 8:30 a.m. and reopened I-75 South before Hudson Bridge Road, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center. Traffic diversions are no longer in place.

The interstate had been shut down since before 5:30 a.m. Traffic was being forced off both I-75 and I-675 at Ga. 138, making travel from Clayton County into Henry County difficult during busy Black Friday shopping hours.

One person was killed in the multivehicle crash, and no other injuries were reported, according to Henry County police. No details have been released.

There are still major delays on I-75 South. According to the Traffic Center, the best alternates are U.S. 41, Jonesboro Road or Ga. 42, which runs east of the interstate.

Ga. 42 is also the best option for those headed to the Tanger Outlets in Locust Grove.
