A DeKalb County judge sentenced a Covington man Monday to 15 years in prison for killing a married couple while driving under the influence in 2015.

Donte Alexander Grant pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide and a charge of driving while under the influence of marijuana, said Yvette Jones, spokeswoman for the DeKalb district attorney.

Grant was driving a Chevrolet Camaro north on Wesley Chapel Road and struck a Honda Accord stopped in the center turning lane about 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 9, 2015, DeKalb police Capt. S.R. Fore previously said.

Grant was 25 years old at the time.

The couple in the Accord was 48-year-old Tammy Glenn and 49-year-old Aaron Glenn.

Grant was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries that night and charged with the crime in September 2016.

Jones said Grant will face five years of probation once he is released.
