UPDATE [11 p.m.]: Wednesday night's winning Powerball numbers were 44, 62, 20, 37 and 16 with the Powerball being 12.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Powerball jackpot has grown to $750 million, the fourth-largest prize in the game's history.
While several Georgia lottery players have won playing Powerball in recent weeks, no one has hit the big jackpot in the 25 times it has rolled over since Dec. 29. The next drawing is Wednesday at 11 p.m.
Two winning tickets were sold in the March 23 Powerball drawing, including one purchased online at the Georgia Lottery’s website. That ticket was worth $150,000, according to Georgia lottery officials.
The other ticket was sold in Tallapoosa in Haralson County at the Georgia Visitor Information Center off I-20. Neither winner has come forward to claim their prize, officials said. Powerball winners have 180 days from the draw date to present their winning ticket.
Wednesday’s jackpot ranks fourth in U.S. lottery history behind the top $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot in 2016 shared by winners in California, Florida and Tennessee. The No. 2 spot goes to the $1.537 billion Mega Millions jackpot won in South Carolina in 2018, and the third-largest jackpot was the $758.7 million Powerball jackpot won in Massachusetts in 2017.
Powerball is $2 to play. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
