What to watch for at Gwinnett school board meeting

Dec 17, 2015Gwinnett County school board members are scheduled to hold their final meetings of the year Thursday.
Here are some things to watch for when the board holds its 3 p.m. work session and 7 p.m. voting meeting.
- An oversight committee will discuss any recommended changes to the school district's Academic Knowledge and Skills curriculum.
- A vote to spend about $2.6 million to hire companies to make improvements to heating and cooling units to 10 schools.
- Details about a proposed Junior Achievement program at Norcross High School.
- Picking the name for a new middle school in the Duluth area.
The meetings will be at the district’s headquarters, 437 Old Peachtree Road in Suwanee.
