School discipline drives teachers from classroom
Whether schools over or under discipline students seems to be a matter of perspective.
If their child is facing disciplinary action, many parents contend schools overreact. If their kids are in class with disruptive classmates, parents maintain schools go too easy on wrongdoers.
Schools cannot win.
Teachers are increasingly citing discipline as a major challenge. In fact, a new survey of teachers who left Atlanta Public Schools in the past year asked what would make them consider returning to the classroom. The top response: Address discipline.
