Registration is open for Atlanta students to take online summer classes, with 16 courses offered to those who need to make up ground or want to get ahead.

Sign-up for Atlanta Virtual Academy lasts until June 4, and the summer sessions run from June 11 through July 23, with classes in subjects including coordinate algebra, world literature, biology, physical education, history and economics.

The online classes, available to students in grades eight through 12, are guided by certified teachers and require students to log in daily for an average of 20 to 24 hours per week. Registration information is available on the Atlanta Virtual Academy website.
