Parents hoping to enroll their children in Gwinnett’s school system this fall can do so Thursday.

Gwinnett officials ask parents to check with the school’s website for registration activities.

Gwinnett, the state's largest school district, had about 12,400 kindergarten students at the start of this school year. School district leaders this year have explored ways to help children be better prepared for kindergarten, such as weekend classes.

Administrators have also discussed concerns that many children aren't emotionally ready for kindergarten, pointing to a rise in suspensions.
