The Fulton County Schools’ Student Health Services Department on Friday hosted its fourth annual training event for school nurses and clinic assistants.

School healthcare workers gathered at the Scottish Rite campus of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to hear from state health and emergency response leaders on how staff and school leaders can become more prepared for potential emergency situations.

Speakers included Pat O’Neal, emergency preparedness director for the Georgia Department of Public Health, and Garry McGiboney, associate superintendent for the Georgia Department of Education.
