The city of East Point to host Geographic Information System Day. There will be GIS activities for students, citizens and staff to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education and to inspire others to use technology for good. The event is designed to teach the public how the city uses GIS to advance the Smart City Initiative, according to a press release.

The event will take place 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 at City Hall Council Chambers, 2757 East Point St., East Point.

The East Paint’s GIS Division, U.S. Census Bureau, Atlanta Regional Commission Fulton County Government GIS Trees Atlanta, ESRI and J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University are sponsors.
