Georgia’s graduation rate reached an all-time high this year, data shows.

The rate grew 6 percentage points since last year to reach 78.8 percent.

Officials have attributed this increase to cleaner records, the retirement of the Georgia High School Graduation Test and new data systems that identify struggling kids early.

Despite the significant increase in the state's graduation rate, tens of thousands of students are still failing to earn a diploma.
