Cherokee County Educational Foundation adopts bylaws and elects officers
Oct 5, 2012
The newly established non-profit Cherokee County Educational Foundation has adopted bylaws and elected officers and is moving ahead with its mission to find money and resources for schools in the district which, along with districts statewide, have seen a decline in state funds in recent years. The foundation will apply for 501(3)(c) status which, if granted, will make donations tax-deductible. Elected board of directors ex-officio members include school board members who have been critical of the state’s push for charter schools — ooutgoing school board chairman Mike Chapman, and school board vice chairman Janet Read — and Cherokee County superintendent Frank Petruzielo.
