The Atlanta Board of Education is scheduled to give tentative approval Tuesday to the city school system’s $658 million budget.

The 2014-2015 general fund budget is $63 million higher than the current year’s spending plan, with costs driven up by a 3 percent pay raise, elimination of furloughs and charter school growth, said Chief Financial Officer Chuck Burbridge on Friday.

Rising tax collections would fund $633 million of the budget, and $25 million from reserves would cover the balance.
