High school juniors in Georgia finally are seeing their scores from the PSAT they took in October.

The College Board was a month late in getting scores back to students. Some local school counselors are still reporting problems in accessing scores from the test administered nationwide to 11th graders on Oct. 14.

And students are seeing something different in these scores, which reflect a new scoring system in which the top score in each of the two sections is a 760 rather than an 800. That will lower the score needed to quality for National Merit, which is announced in September.

This PSAT was the first based on a new, revamped SAT rolling out in March. The PSAT is a practice for the SAT, which is a college admissions test.
