As Hurricane Florence prepares to slam the Carolina coast, a charity in Kansas City is preparing to deliver hot meals to residents after the storm passes through, KMBC reported.

Operation BBQ Relief has loaded a flatbed truck with five large smokers, the television station reported. Its destination is Charleston, South Carolina, where members of Operation BBQ Relief will set up a staging area.

The charity is also sending a box truck full of supplies, KMBC reported.

Operation BBQ Relief also received 3,000 pounds of pork to cook for people in need.
