Georgia ranked No. 11 among 2016's States with the Best and Worst Community College Systems, a ranking by personal finance website WalletHub.
The results were drawn from the website's analysis of 2016's Best and Worst Community Colleges in the nation list, which examined tuitions, graduation rates, student-faculty ratios and other key metrics in 821 community colleges across the nation.
Data for the analysis was obtained from the National Center for Education Statistics, Council for Community and Economic Research and College Measures.
Among the 821 listed and twelve community colleges in Georgia ranked, seven Georgia colleges sat among the top 400 schools.
For WalletHub's state-by-state analysis, each state was given a weighted average score determined by the community colleges in each state and the number of students enrolled in each school.
Only states with at least two community colleges present in WalletHub's Best and Worst Community Colleges ranking were included.
Analysts also noted that though three states—Tennessee, Oregon and Mississippi—have proposed tuition-free enrollment, the "actual disbursement of awards" will not begin until the new academic year and WalletHub was unable to take into account the effect the legislation will have on tuition rates.
