A Chevrolet Corvette stolen from a music video shoot in Newton County has been recovered, authorities said.

The yellow 2019 Corvette was rented from a Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Hertz location for the Aug. 7 video shoot, Newton County sheriff’s spokeswoman Deputy Latavia Washington told AJC.com. The car was reportedly worth $86,000.

While it was parked near an apartment complex on Greenleaf Road in Conyers, and the film crew was otherwise occupied, someone slid into the driver’s seat.

“It was left unattended with the keys in the ignition,” Washington said.

The crew tried to follow after the Corvette but lost track of it. It was recovered Aug. 10.

The sheriff’s office is not releasing further details, Washington said, as the theft is still under investigation.
