A man who allegedly stabbed a security guard at a DeKalb County sports bar Saturday night was still at large Monday morning, police said.

The man was identified as 38-year-old Michael Thomas, according to a police report obtained by AJC.com.

The guard was stabbed in the chest about 9 p.m. outside the Major League Bar and Grill on Northlake Parkway in Tucker, police said.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the 43-year-old guard “bleeding heavily from the chest,” the incident report stated. The guard was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Thomas left the scene in a silver Nissan Altima, police said.

Police said the guard was trying to escort Williams out of the bar because he was “intoxicated and started causing trouble inside.”

Channel 2 reported that police said Williams first pulled out a gun. The security guard wrestled the weapon from him, but that’s when Williams allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the guard, the news station reported.

No weapon was found at the scene, according to police.
