Mahomes, who threw for 5,097 yards and led the NFL in touchdowns with 50 in 2018, will be featured on the cover of "Madden NFL 20," EA Sports announced on its website.

Mahomes, who was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year in 2018, is the first Chiefs player and eighth quarterback to grace the cover of the popular video game, according to NFL.com. The others are Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Brett Favre, Vince Young, Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick and Daunte Culpepper.

Mahomes, 23, is the third-youngest player in the video game's history to be featured on the cover. Only Vick, in "Madden 04," and Odell Beckham Jr., on "Madden 16," were younger, ESPN reported.

"When you're a little kid, you dream about being on the cover of 'Madden,'" Mahomes told The Undefeated. "And having your picture up there."

The first set of player ratings for "Madden 20" will be revealed before the game's worldwide release Aug. 2, ESPN reported.

After leading Kansas City to a 12-4 regular-season record and a berth in the AFC Championship Game, Mahomes said he expects his rating to be 100.

"I expect my rating to be a 100," Mahomes told ESPN. "I'm thinking that's what we should go with. I want a little 100 emoji by my name."
