The city of Flowery Branch is working to restore water pressure in the area of Cantrell Road and Flowery Branch Creek.

A boil advisory issued for for three Flowery Branch neighborhoods expired Saturday morning at 9 a.m., according to city officials.

"Due to all the rain and washout of Cantrell Road at Flowery Branch Creek there is a water boil order in effect until 9 a.m. on June 2, 2018,” Flowery Branch police said on Facebook.

Residents in the Carriage Crossing, Waterstone Crossing and Clarkstone Village neighborhoods were included in the boil advisory due to low water pressure in the area.

“Staff is working hard to have the water pressure restored to normal flows as soon as possible,” officials said.

Recent heavy rains have raised levels in bodies of water across North Georgia, including nearby Lake Lanier. The lake is over its full pool elevation of 1,071 feet, and the levels are expected to rise with more forecasted precipitation, according to the Army Corps of Engineers.

The Army Corps expects to release water continuously from the lake at Buford Dam over the next two weeks.
