Clayton County police have identified a man who died in a crash that shut down a major road for hours.

Derek Paul Lewis, 27, was killed in the wreck, which happened shortly before 6 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Riverdale Road and Garden Walk Boulevard, officials said.

Details about the crash have not been released, but several police cars and at least two wreckers responded to the scene. At least one motorcycle was involved in wreck.

Traffic in both directions was closed at Garden Walk Boulevard due to the crash, the sheriff's office said in an online post. Police did not reopen the roadway until shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday.
