Pao Pao Ramen Factory Bar in Buford earned its second failing inspection this month, with a 58/U follow-up inspection on Thursday.

The restaurant at 3290 Buford Drive had multiple repeat violations from a routine inspection on Oct. 13, resulting in a score of 45/U. Repeat violations of food contamination included unwashed produce stored above ready-to-eat food in the coolers, and raw chicken prepared on a counter with ready-to-eat food stored below.

The ice machine had mold, again. It had not been cleaned with a sanitizer, employees said.

Fish cakes on the cook-line had no time stamp and were discarded. Mussels in the cooler were also thrown away because they were not in the original package.

Pao Pao also posted for customer viewing an old inspection report from 2020 where the restaurant earned a 95/A. Management was advised to post the current report.

After two unsatisfactory scores, the restaurant will have another follow-up inspection within ten days and must earn a passing score of 80 or above.
