This week, memorial services will be held for Rayshard Brooks at Atlanta's Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Brooks died on June 12 after being shot by an Atlanta police officer in the parking lot of a Wendy’s. He was 27 years old.
Brooks' death drew attention from the likes of Bernice King, Stacey Abrams, 50 Cent, Kim Kardashian, Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg.
Now, as Brooks is remembered with a public visitation today and private funeral on Tuesday, prominent voices in Atlanta and beyond are remembering his life.

Last week, attorneys for the family said that media mogul Tyler Perry would cover the funeral expenses. People magazine reported that Perry also offered to pay for the college educations of Brooks' four children.
The public visitation will take place from 3-7 p.m. on Monday.

The visitation for Brooks, who was a father of three young daughters, is happening the day after Father’s Day. On Sunday, actress Amber Tamblyn wished Brooks and George Floyd, who was killed by a Minneapolis police officer last month, a happy Father’s Day on Twitter.
Happy Father’s Day to George Floyd, and Eric Gardner, and Rayshard Brooks, and all the black fathers who aren’t here to spend this day with their kids because they were murdered by police.
