The MetroPCS Corky Kell Classic has reshuffled its lineup of nine games for the traditional season-opening high school football event in August.

The games will be played over three days again beginning on Thursday, Aug. 17, at Mercer University’s Five Star Stadium. Lee County and Mary Persons will play the opener followed by Jones County and Houston County.

The location of the two Friday games and the five Saturday games is undetermined.

According to event organizer Dave Hunter, there might be an opportunity to play at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday . If not, Hunter said he would seek out college stadiums or other local venues.

For most years since 1992, the year of the first Corky Kell Classic, the majority of the Corky Kell games have been played in the Georgia Dome, which is being replaced by the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Falcons' new home beginning next year. The first regular-season football games of any kind ever held at the Georgia Dome were Corky Kell games in August of 1992.
