North Georgia’s fall preview continues Wednesday with low humidity, comfortable morning temperatures and projected afternoon highs in the low 80s.

With eight days to go before the fall equinox, it’s still summertime even if it doesn’t feel like it, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said. Monahan is not expecting any issues Wednesday for what should be beautiful weather for getting outdoors.

“Today, tomorrow and Friday will be very sunny,” he said. “By the weekend, especially by Sunday, we’ll pick up a little bit more moisture and a little bit more cloud cover. Still, no rain in the forecast all the way through the end of the week.”

Metro Atlanta is starting the day comfortable but warmer than on Tuesday with lows in the upper 50s and low 60s. There are some low 50s in the mountains, Monahan said, which may warrant a light jacket.

The afternoon should see a repeat of Tuesday’s nice conditions.

“Plenty of sunshine takes us through our Wednesday, and dry air,” he said. “We’ll warm up steadily toward about 84 degrees for a high this afternoon (in Atlanta) and a little warmer for Thursday and Friday.”

Monahan is calling for highs in the mid-80s to end the week, as well as a rise in humidity.

“It’s still going to be really nice, though, as we head toward the end of the week and into the weekend,” he said.

By the first official day of fall on Sept. 22, the average high for Atlanta is 82 degrees.

Atlanta's projected high is 84 degrees Wednesday and there is no chance of rain.
