Expect more 60-degree weather this weekend along with some rain, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Following a frigid Friday morning, Atlanta managed to reach the 60s and is expected to stay there through the Sunday.

Currently, it’s 50 degrees in Atlanta, the news station reported. The city earlier reached a high of 60.

A warm front, then a cold front is expected to produce widespread rain Saturday night and Sunday, according to Channel 2. There is a 40 percent chance Saturday and a 90 percent chance Sunday.

“Instability is limited, but could be enough for a few strong storms, especially Sunday,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.

Recent rain has already helped push metro Atlanta out of a drought. Rain this weekend “should give more relief,” Minton said.

Temps are expected to reach the 60s this weekend.

“After some chilly days next week, we're headed back above average overall from March 16-22,” Nitz said. “There could still be some additional cold nights, but the last week of March is looking mild, too.”

Snow flurries, however, are possible Sunday night into Monday morning in far North Georgia.
