It’s been a dry day for much of metro Atlanta, and expect that trend to continue through the evening.

“(It’s been) a typical dog-days-of-summer afternoon with a partly cloudy sky,” Channel 2 Action News Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

It’s a much different outlook than last week, which brought severe storms and daily downpours to the region.

Save far North Georgia, Monday hasn’t seen much rain at all.

Without the cloud cover to keep temperatures down, Atlanta saw a high of 93 degrees.

But don’t get too used to the 90-degree weather. Temperatures are expected to drop again as rain chances rise, according to Channel 2. The chance of afternoon storms increases to 40 percent Wednesday before topping out at 60 percent Thursday, when storms are likely.
