Umbrellas were few and far between Thursday night as scattered storms fizzled out in metro Atlanta, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The showers were largely east of Atlanta. Earlier, several metro counties, including Clayton, Fulton and DeKalb, picked up showers just before 2 p.m.

Any spotty showers are expected to taper off by 10 p.m.

Humidity is at 63 percent, Channel 2 reported.

The temperature is 88 degrees in Atlanta, and the heat index is making that feel like the 90s.

Friday morning could see a few showers from a cold front coming in overnight, Channel 2 reported. While temperatures are not expected to decrease, the air could become dryer.

Expect lows in the mid-70s and highs in the 90s.

There is a 30 percent chance of rain, but according to Channel 2 wet weekend weather isn’t in the forecast. Dry and partly cloudy skies are expected Saturday and Sunday.
