Evening hours are expected to bring more heat and rain, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Showers won’t be everywhere, but they could get heavy where they do develop.

“We were dealing with heavy rain,” Channel 2 meteorologist Katie Walls said. “We were dealing with gusty winds, frequent lightning, heavy downpours, all of the above.”

However, those showers should taper off after sunset.

The temperature is 90 degrees in Atlanta, Channel 2 reported.

It still feels muggy, with dew points in the 60s, Walls said. But it’s an improvement from the 70s.

The high is expected to reach 91 degrees in Atlanta, and temps are forecast to stay in the 90s through 6 p.m.
