A new airfare sale to Europe puts Venice, Italy in the spotlight. This magical destination is priced at $861.20 round-trip when departing on or before May 21.

Sale rules require one-week or more advance purchase notice. Trips taken on Fridays-Sundays are $37.50 additional, each way. Plan to stay at least one Saturday night and return within 30 days of your departure.

This sale is valid on Lufthansa Airlines with routing via Frankfurt, Germany. Stopovers are not permitted.

Buy tickets through April 12.

__________

A separate sale to Europe for the summer season comes from British Airways. Through April 10, purchase these round-trip rates (rates shown in parenthesis are current summer season rates on other major carriers):

  • $979.50 Shannon, Ireland ($1,325.80)
  • $998.20 Brussels, Belgium ($1,384.50)
  • $1006.50 Barcelona, Spain ($1,436.90)
  • $1049.00 Bordeaux*, Marseilles* or Toulouse, France ($1,736.20)
  • $1130.60 Amsterdam, Netherlands ($1,613.90)

* change of airport required in London (cost of transportation not included)

Add $35 each way for travel on Fridays or Saturdays. Depart May 22-Aug. 23. Stay up to 180 days.

British Airways and partner American Airlines serves these destinations with flight connections in Chicago-O'Hare, Miami or London. Stopovers are not permitted.

Sale airfares are always subject to change.

Every seat on every flight is not offered at the lowest rate. Since only a limited supply of seats is available, act quickly to make your purchase.

I recommend starting the search for available seats at Kayak.com vs. calling an airline directly. You can also search for the sale at travel Web sites such as Expedia or Travelocity, etc.
