USAirways offers a screamin’ deal to Brazil from Atlanta.
A round-trip rate of $938 is offered to Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo, Brazil. This is an outstanding discount considering other carriers charge nearly $1,700 to Brazil during the peak seasons.
On the USAirways deal, go as soon as this weekend. An advance notice of travel is not required.
This sale rate is valid seven days a week, based on sale seat availability.
The minimum stay requirement is any three nights. All travel at this rate must be finished on or before Feb. 28, 2014.
Another plus? There are no blackout dates. Rio’s New Year’s and Carnaval celebrations (Feb. or early March, depending on the year) are two of the most entertaining worldwide events.
USAirways has a ticket-by date of Aug. 20 for this offer, but if you have any desire to go — buy tickets immediately.
USAirways serves Rio and Sao Paulo with one flight connection in Charlotte, N.C.
Sale airfares are always subject to change. Every seat on every flight is not offered at the lowest rate. On some departures or days there may be few or no tickets available at the lowest price.
Since only a limited supply of seats is available, act quickly to make your purchase.
I recommend starting the search for available seats at Kayak.com vs. calling an airline directly. You can also search for the sale at travel websites such as Expedia, Orbitz or Travelocity, etc.

When is the best time to visit Rio de Janeiro?
It’s winter right now in Rio (June-September). Locals mingle with vacationing tourists while enjoying moderate weather. Expect mild temperatures and inflated hotel prices. These months are also ideal for sightseeing with fewer rain showers and less fog to muck up incredible views of Sugarloaf Mountain.
Spring (October-November) is an ideal time for visitors seeking sun and adventure. Mild and dry weather (daytime temps average 70s; 60s at night), fewer crowds, and more room to sprawl out on the beaches. It’s also a good season to save on high-end hotels.
December-March is Rio’s peak season. Hotel prices can be inflated during these months. Also, expect crowds on the main city beaches during these months, when temperatures hover in the mid-80s (but can occasionally soar into the 100s). If you decide to travel earlier in December, expect rain showers.
Sao Paulo’s climate is similar climate Rio’s with hot summers and mild winters. The city is perched atop a plateau (at 2,300 ft.) and daytime lows from June through September can bring cool temps in the mid-50s. Temps get colder heading south of Sao Paulo.
