Airfares to a handful of destinations, valid on trips taken through spring of 2013, are worth making haste to buy tickets.

The best of the bunch is an offer from American Airlines to Dallas-Fort Worth. A round-trip rate of $107.60 is valid on trips started on or after Dec. 18 and finished on or before May 22, 2013. Rules of this bargain rate are rigid and apply only on one westbound and one eastbound flight - and only on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Specifically, #1957 departing Atlanta at 2:00p.m. and #1648 departing Dallas at 2:15p.m. Rates are $117.60 round-trip on these same flights operating on Mondays, Thursdays or Fridays. When departing Atlanta Sundays-Wednesdays, a three-night minimum stay is required.

Other airfare deals from AirTran are valid on trips finished on or before March 6, 2013. One-way rates of $78.80 are offered to Dayton, Ohio; New Orleans; Orlando; St. Louis, Mo. and Tampa. One-way rates to New York-LaGuardia are $109.80.

To qualify, give at least a ten-day or more advance notice of travel. Trips can be taken seven days a week, based on sale seat availability. Sale prices are not valid on Dec. 20-23, 26-31; Jan. 1-6; Feb. 15, 18.

AirTran serves each of these destinations with nonstop service.

Now for the not-so-good news. None of these deals have a ticket-by date which indicates the offers could vanish at anytime. Act fast on ticket purchases.

Sale airfares are always subject to change. Every seat on every flight is not offered at the lowest rate.

I recommend starting the search for available seats at the participating airline website or other travel websites such as Kayak, Expedia, Orbitz or Travelocity vs. phoning an airline reservation desk.
