American Airlines is running a one-day sale to a perfect destination for autumn leaf peeping to summer time adventures in the Garden of the Gods. With more than 50 regional attractions and 300 days of sunshine each year, Colorado Springs will please the highly adventurous traveler to young families, couples and groups of friends.
Get there for $116 round-trip -- yes, that's round-trip -- now through Aug. 10, 2011. To qualify, give at least a 7-day advance notice of travel. Trips are permitted seven days a week, based on sale seat availability. A Saturday night stay is mandatory. What's more, this sale has no blackout dates.
However, this special rate does not have a ticket-by date. This means that American could cancel the sale at any time throughout the day. So, act fast to make your ticket purchase.
Total ticket rates, including all taxes and fees are $157.30 round-trip.
American serves Colorado Springs via its Dallas-Fort Worth hub.

Sale fares listed here are subject to change. Every seat on every flight is not offered at the lowest rate. Since only a limited supply of seats is available, act quickly to make your purchase. I recommend starting the search for available seats at Kayak.com vs. calling an airline directly. You can also search for the sale at travel Web sites such as Expedia or Travelocity, etc. Airlines can discontinue or pull a sale price without notice when the offer is deemed "sold out," or when that rate does not have a "ticket-by" date.
