It's a tad bit early, but snow is already blanketing Colorado mountains. So, get ready for a great ski season -- and a season of great deals.
One ski resort will certainly appeal to those that don't have several vacation days to play in the snow. The Winter Park Resort is super convenient with a location just about an hour drive northwest of Denver. Hop on a nonstop flight from Atlanta and hit the slopes later that afternoon!
The resort is currently running a very special offer for early season visitors.
The "Ski and Ride FREE" promotion lets visitors earn free lift tickets for each night of accommodations booked on stays through Christmas Day. A minimum stay of two nights is required.
For instance, per person, per night rates at the Winter Park Mountain Lodge start at $55 in a hotel room with two queen beds. Rates are from $69 for a studio condominium at The Vintage Hotel. A studio condominium is priced from $95 at Fraser Crossing/Founders Pointe and a one bedroom condominium at Zephyr Mountain Lodge is priced from $115. All rates are per person, per night and based on double occupancy.
There are several other pricing and lodging options available. Check them all out here -- http://skicolorado.com/Winter-Park-Package.aspx#2 .
The complimentary ski lift tickets are good for play on three mountains -- Winter Park, Mary Jane and Vasquez Ridge. That gives skiers over 130 runs with 25 lifts and one Superpipe. Worth noting: Winter Park Resort is home to one of the world's largest and oldest disabled skiing programs, the National Sports Center for the Disabled (www.nscd.org).
AirTran, Delta, Frontier and United all offer daily nonstop flights to Denver at rates starting from $119, based on a 21-day advance purchase notice.
