Deals for a fun Labor Day weekend

In just under three weeks we’ll be celebrating the long Labor Day weekend and the end of summertime fun. And then an odd thing happens when we head back to work that week — that is, we start to make plans on where we’ll be feasting on Thanksgiving dinner.

If you like to get out of town for that long holiday, here are some deals and destinations to consider that have no Thanksgiving holiday blackout dates:

• $398 round-trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming: Give at least a one-week advance purchase notice. Travel any day of the week and plan to be away at least any two nights. Final travel is July 11, 2014. Valid on American via Dallas.

• San Jose, Costa Rica: $496 round-trip when departing by Dec. 14 or Dec. 24-31. A 28-day advance purchase notice required. Add $10 per direction for Friday-Sunday travel. Stay a minimum of any five nights. Valid on American via Miami. One free stopover permitted in Miami.

• San Jose, Costa Rica: $542 round-trip on Delta, nonstop. A 28-day advance purchase required. Add just $10 per direction for Friday-Sunday travel. Stay at least any five nights. Final travel is July 11, 2014.
