Georgia secured another top recruit Thursday with the commitment of Independence Community College defensive end Jermaine Johnson.

The 4-star defensive end from Eden Prairie, Minn. went on an unofficial visit to Athens, Ga. last weekend, according to a report by 247 Sports.

With the commitment of Johnson - 6-foot-6, 250 pounds - the Bulldogs rose to the No. 1 rated 2019 recruiting class with 17 total commits, jumping Alabama, according to 247 Sports’ ranking.

Johnson publicly announced his decision a statement on Twitter with edited photos of himself in a Georgia uniform.
