Alex Tambakis, an Atlanta United goalie on loan at Charleston in the USL, earned a shut out in his professional debut for the club on Saturday.

The Battery defeated Cincinnati 1-0 behind Tambakis, who had three saves, and Montreal loanee Romario Williams, who scored the game-winner in the 94th minute.

Tambakis, the first player signed by Atlanta United after starting his career in Greece with Panathinaikos, looked calm and confident throughout the night, handling numerous corners and set-piece free kicks by Cincinnati.

Tambakis and Charleston will play Orlando B on Friday.

Atlanta United will play its first MLS season in 2017 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
