Top-ranked Collins Hill defeated No. 2 Mill Creek 40-10 Friday in the first regular-season game between the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the state’s highest classification in 18 years.

The No. 1-ranked Eagles forced five turnovers en route to their second straight Region 8-7A championship and the first 10-0 regular season in school history. No. 2 Mill Creek fell to 8-1, 2-1.

The last time the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the state’s highest classification met during regular season game, No. 2 Brookwood ended No. 1 Parkview’s 46-game winning streak with a 35-21 victory in 2003.
