Masters’ leaders Jordan Spieth and Charley Hoffman definitely will be the most intriguing pairing of Saturday’s third round. But it is with good reason that a lot of golf insiders will be paying close attention to the 1:15 p.m. pairing of Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia.

The two have not played together since May of 2013 when their grouping at The Players Championship resulted in a long-running feud. It stems from a disagreement over the chain of events that happened on the second hole there and resulted in Garcia hitting a distracted shot on the way to a bogey.

In a nutshell, Woods came out of it calling Garcia a whiner and Garcia charged Woods with being a liar and a phony. There was also a fried chicken remark from Garcia that drew some criticism.

The world-renowned golfers have managed to mostly avoid each other since then. But they could not after both shot 2-under-par scores of 142 in the first two rounds of the 79th Masters. Based on nothing more than their scores and the times they finished their rounds, they were paired together for today’s third round.

Garcia sent out a couple of tweets about it Saturday morning.
