Georgia Tech’s offensive line has made room for two new pieces, both from metro Atlanta. Milton High lineman Brandon Best and Grayson High lineman Griffin Scroggs announced their commitments to the Yellow Jackets’ 2022 signing class within minutes of each other Monday evening.

Both took their official visits to Tech this past weekend. They are the second and third offensive-line prospects to commit to coach Geoff Collins’ recruiting class, which is now at seven.

Scroggs continues the Grayson-Tech pipeline, which has helped to fill the Jackets’ 2022 roster with five former Rams. Scroggs does not have a 247Sports Composite rating (nor does Best, although Rivals rates both as three-star recruits). However, he has something arguably more substantial – a scholarship offer from Georgia. In his highlights, Scroggs shows a convincing ability to get push from the interior and a brawler’s feistiness. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 309 pounds, Scroggs continues offensive-line coach Brent Key’s emphasis on height and size.

Best, listed at 6-foot-4 and 293 pounds, moves well on his feet and uses his long reach to engage defensive linemen. Best, who played last season at Tucker High, earned his scholarship offer from Tech after an in-person evaluation on the first day of June. He has also received offers from Virginia Tech, Kansas State and multiple Ivy League schools.
