Falcons defensive end Jack Crawford, who signed a three-year deal worth $10.3 milion on Thursday, spoke to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution about joining the team.

Here’s what he had to say:

Q: How does it feel to have the business done?

A: "I'm excited right now."

Q: What was attractive about the Falcons to you?

A: "The philosophy that I played in the past few years under Rod Marinelli with the Cowboys is similar. To me, when I watch Atlanta on tape, I like how they play. The all have high motors and they all just get up the field."

Q: Do you fit the Falcons’ scheme?

A: "I believe that system is the most fun and how to play defensive line. I'd prefer to try to be disruptive than try and hold a gap. I'm glad that I think this is one of the best teams that I fit defensively. I think it fits me. I was really happy to sign there. I've heard nothing but good things about everybody. I'm excited."

Q: Did the fact that Dan Quinn was a defensive line coach play into the decision?

A: "Yeah, since it came out that I signed with them I've received texts from former teammates and college teammates that say I'm going to love coach Quinn."

Q: Are you looking forward to getting started?

A: "I trust them and just what I've seen from this year on tape. I'm excited. Ain't really much to say. I'm excited to meet the staff and try to assimilate to the coaches and the team."
