One Atlanta team ranks among world’s 50 most valuable

The Falcons are the 35th most valuable sports team in the world this year, according to a new ranking by Forbes.

The publication is out this week with its annual ranking of the world’s 50 most valuable sports teams, topped by the Dallas Cowboys at a valuation of $4 billion.

The Falcons, valued at $1.67 billion by Forbes, are the only Atlanta team on the list as neither the Braves nor the Hawks made the cut.

The list consists of 27 NFL teams, eight European soccer teams (including three in the top five), eight NBA teams and seven MLB teams.

The cut-off to make the top 50 is a valuation of $1.48 billion. Forbes values the Braves at $1.18 billion and the Hawks at $825 million.
