Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones was in a group of five players who did not practice Thursday, per the team’s official injury report.

Jones plans to play against the Saints (1-1) at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. He likely will be listed as questionable in Friday’s final injury report of the week.

“I’m good,” Jones said Thursday before practice. “I’m just getting treatment and things like that. We’ve done this numerous of times in the past for me. But, it’s just a precaution. It’s just day-to-day to see how I feel.”

Jones said the injury occurred in the game.

“I can’t really recall exactly what happened,” Jones said. “But throughout the game I just felt some tightness. That’s all.”

In addition to Jones, running back Devonta Freeman (knee contusion), defensive end Takk McKinley (groin), defensive end Derrick Shelby (groin) and linebacker Corey Nelson (calf) did not practice.

Cornerback Isaiah Oliver (ankle) fully participated. Wide receiver Russell Gage (knee) and guard Ben Garland (calf) were limited.

Offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian is fine with preparing for the Saints without Jones in practice.

“He’s a pro’s pro,” Sarkisian said. “Even though he’s not on the field at practice with us today, the guy works at it. He’s in meetings. He attentive. He’s asking questions. So, if he’s physically ready to play, which remains to be seen, I have no doubt in my mind he’ll be mentally prepared to play.”

Jones has caught 15 passes for 233 yards in the two games this season.
