QB corner: Ryan wants a balanced attack

Dec 26, 2015

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan on the state of the offense:

Q: How important is it to stay balanced?

A: "The balance, when you're able to run the ball 50 percent of the time and pass the ball efficiently and take care it, that's a good ratio. We still need to find a couple of more ways to get the ball in the end zone … but that balance is good. When your defense is getting stops and those kind of things, it allows you to play balanced."

Q: How hard is it to maintain your composure against talkative players?

A: "There are different guys at different times throughout the league. I know Cortland Finnegan was a guy back in the day that would take guys out of their game. I remember him and Andre Johnson having a go at it when he was at Houston and Finnegan was in Tennessee. You have to know that going into it, that some guys are like that. That's part of the deal. You have to keep your composure."

Q: What’s it like playing a team twice in three weeks?

A: "We have got to make some adjustments to what we did against them last time and learn from that last game. Hopefully, we'll be able to do that this week. … You understand how they are going to try and play you.

Q: Has there been much playoff chatter?

A: "This week it's about getting the job done against Carolina."
