Atlanta Dream forward Demetris Dantas is out for the rest of the 2018 season after undergoing surgery on her right ankle, the team announced Thursday.

Dantas, from Brazil, has been listed on the Dream’s injury report with the right ankle injury since July 16 and has not played in a game since July 13.

A third-year player, Dantas played in 19 games this season with the Dream before suffering her ankle injury, averaging 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in 13.4 minutes.

Dantas is the second Dream player in one week to be sidelined for the remainder of the 2018 season after the team announced on Aug. 10 All-Star Angel McCoughtry would miss the rest of the season with a left knee injury.

The Dream clinched a playoff spot last week and look to secure the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference Friday with a win over the Phoenix Mercury.
