Former Georgia All-American cornerback Champ Bailey is one of more than 200 coaches and players on the 2021 College Football Hall of Fame ballot.

Bailey won the Bronko Nagurski award as the nation’s top defensive player in 1998 and played 15 seasons in the NFL with the Redskins and Broncos. Bailey was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019.

Among the other 84 former Division I players and coaches on the ballot are former Georgia Tech linebacker Lucius Sanford and former Georgia high school players Harris Barton (North Carolina, Dunwoody HS), Willie Gault (Tennessee, Griffin HS) and Jason Elam (Hawaii, Brookwood HS). Also, Bailey played at Charlton County High and Sanford at the old West Fulton High.

Ninety-nine players and 33 coaches from the divisional ranks also are on the ballot.

The announcement of the 2021 class will be made early next year, with the induction taking place in December 2021 in New York.
