Tech's Snoddy sets school track record

Georgia Tech  B-back Broderick Snoddy broke a school track record in the 60-meter dash Saturday.

Snoddy, a former Georgia Class AAA state 100- and 200-meter dash champion in high school,  finished in 6.75 seconds at the Auburn Indoor Invite at the Birmingham CrossPlex. Snoddy finished sixth in the eight-man heat. He broke the record of 6.77 set last year by Perron Jones.

Snoddy also finished fifth in the 200 in 21.51. This is Snoddy’s first year on the track team.

Also at the meet, teammate Shawn Roberts set a meet record and personal best in the mile with a time of four minutes, 7.42 seconds. Last year, Roberts won the 800 at the ACC indoor championship and was 20th overall at the NCAA outdoor meet.
