Seven Georgia State football players were named to Phil Steele’s Preseason All-Sun Belt teams on Monday.
Wide receiver Donovan Harden, tight end Joel Ruiz and linebacker Joseph Peterson were named to the first team. Harden had a team-high 60 catches for 885 yards last year, with seven touchdowns. Ruiz had 39 catches for 478 yards and three touchdowns. Peterson led the team with 97 tackles, the third consecutive season he has done that.
Kicker Wil Lutz made the second team, along with receiver Robert Davis, who had 50 catches for 732 yards and two touchdowns last year.
Newcomer Julien Laurent, a defensive lineman who transferred to Georgia State from New Mexico Military Institute, made the third team.
Defensive end Mackendy Cheridor made the fourth team.
