Georgia State’s Abigail Tere-Apisah advanced in the NCAA’s singles tennis tournament with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 win over Tennessee’s Eve Repic on Wednesday in Athens.

Tere-Apisah will play California’s Zsofi Susanyi in Thursday’s second round. Tere-Apisah defeated Susanyi 6-3, 6-2 in the fall.

Tere-Apisah advanced to the second round for the second time. She needs one win to earn All-America status for the second time in her career.

Tere-Apisah will team with Masa Grgan to compete in the doubles tournament. They will face Texas A&M’s Cristina Stancu and Stefania Hristov. Georgia State has never won a women’s doubles match in the NCAA tournament.
