Saddiq Bey, a three-star forward from Washington, holds a number of high-major offers, and Georgia Tech only recently got into the mix. But Bey said Thursday he’s willing to consider the Yellow Jackets and coach Josh Pastner.

“I’m real open right now,” Bey said Thursday at the Fab 48 AAU tournament. “I’m just trying to let everything unfold after this tournament.”

Bey has scholarship offers from Notre Dame, Miami, N.C. State, Florida, Georgetown, Stanford and Northwestern, among others. Bey attends the prestigious Sidwell Friends School in the nation’s capital.

“It doesn’t really mean that much to me that they came in late, but they have a great school, great coaching staff,” Bey said. “They’re really developing and have a good mentality about how to play.”

Bey, a small forward listed at 6-foot-5, is athletic, long-limbed and shows a decent scoring touch around the basket. In games Thursday, he also demonstrated a willingness to play defense, no small achievement in AAU play. Tech coach Josh Pastner was among several coaches from high-major schools watching him and his teammates with D.C. Premier AAU team.

Bey said he will try soon to narrow down the list of schools he’s considering, but acknowledged it would probably be in the double digits.
