R.J. Hunter, the all-time leading scorer in Georgia State history who turned 23 on Monday, has been waived by the Boston Celtics.

Hunter was selected in the first round of the 2015 draft by the Celtics following his junior season at Georgia State. Hunter earned national headlines in 2015 with his 35-foot shot that capped GSU's 57-56 upset victory over Baylor in the NCAA tournament.

Hunter, the son of Georgia State coach Ron Hunter, averaged 2.7 points in 36 games with the Celtics last season.
